Hope to see you all at each of these October events. Don't miss
the Adam Murray Recovery Fund (Kay Pratt's son-in-law) Golf
Tournament September 5th - Call Leslie Denton at OCA for
Details.
The RPAC drive is wrapping up. Please make a donation if you
haven't. Call me at 990-8262 and I will get you the proper
forms and deliver your donation.
There will be a city wide election the first Tuesday in November to decide whether the city of Edmond can raise advalorem tax (property tax on real estate) about $76.00 per year on a $100,000 home for 10 years to fund a new police station (cost estimated at $31,500,000). This would be a first for the city fathers to access this area for revenue. I wonder if they will stop there or will they feast on property owners for more projects?
Traditionally the city has raised sales tax to obtain funds for
special projects and I think they should continue to do so. If
you have thoughts about this issue please call and share them
with me.
Here's to wishing you a great September!
Onward,
Brad Reeser
