STANDING COMMITTEES
CONSTITUTION & BYLAWS: Review the Constitution & Bylaws annually for clarity, enforceability, and practicability.
CULTURAL DIVERSITY/EQUAL OPPORTUNITY: Educate members of the Board on their rights and responsibilities under the Fair Housing Act, and to suggest program material and complete educational and outreach activities to implement the Affirmative Marketing Agreement.
ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT: Act as liaison with city officials, local homeowners, Chamber of Commerce and other business and civic organizations to improve the economic development and quality of life in the community.
EDUCATION: Promote awareness of the solid educational background needed for real estate sales, to provide educational programs and quality instructors for Board sponsored courses, to provide support for all OAR and NAR programs.
FINANCE: Preparation, revision and audit of the Board’s budget.
GRIEVANCE: Educate members about ethical conduct; to determine whether complaint about ethical conduct of REALTORS® from other REALTORS® and the public are legitimate for a hearing. Committee members must have a minimum of 5 years in the real estate profession.
LEGISLATIVE: Study, monitor local legislation and inform members of changes in laws or codes affecting real estate industry; recommend policies and actions to counteract any adverse policies to the real estate industry.
MEMBERSHIP: Promote active membership in the board from qualified persons by educating members of their benefits from such membership; serve as host to those in attendance at Board functions.
MLS: Study & monitor MLS activities and inform members of changes; recommend policies and actions to the Chairman.
ORIENTATION: Educate new members in the following areas: Code of Ethics, Equal Opportunity in Housing, MLS Rules and Regulations, Professional Standards, Anti-trust, Truth in Lending and Law of Agency; acquaint new members with policies and procedures of the Edmond Board.
PROFESSIONAL STANDARDS: Conduct hearings and arbitration disputes of legitimate complaints. Committee members must have a minimum of 5 years in the real estate profession.
PROGRAM: Provide educational, timely and interesting programs at the monthly membership meetings.
PUBLIC RELATIONS: Promote the proper use of the term REALTOR® and the logo of the National Association; to assist and educate members as well as the public in proper use of the term and the service it marks; conduct internal and external public relations programs on behalf of the Board.
STRATEGIC PLANNING: Monitor and identify future expansion programs for member service and needs.
SPECIAL COMMITTEES
AFFILIATE: Promote active membership in the Board from individuals in real estate related business or industry.
BANQUET: Plan, organize and host the annual installation of officers and directors and the awards ceremony.
BLOOD DRIVE/GOLF TOURNAMENT: Coordinate these special events.
HABITAT COMMITTEE: Plan and coordinate blitz build with Central Oklahoma Habitat for Humanity
RPAC COMMITTEE: Coordinate the annual RPAC fund raising campaign.
