President's Message

JerryPayne2

Good morning,

Hope everyone is doing well and staying warm. First of all, I want to thank Janet Yowell, Executive Director of the Edmond Economic Development Association for a great job at the February luncheon. She made you feel really good about your home town of Edmond. If you would like to have the information she presented, you can call her office and they will provide it for you. Her office number is 340-0116. What was so amazing was the average sales price of $224,410 and the New Home sales price of $284,276.

I also want to thank Cheryl Tarter for accepting the appointment to the Board of Directors, to fill out the remainder of Carl MacGillivray’s term on the board.  Thanks to all of you who have signed up for a committee. If you have not signed up yet, please call Harriett at the board office and she will help find a place for you to serve.

This new year has called me to look back and reflect on the job we did. I hope each of you will make every effort to become a better REALTOR®. It seems we never quit learning in this business. You need to commit this year to goals of planning, education and raising the bar in your business.  Do not set back and wish business was better. You want to say “I’m glad I did” instead of “I wish I had”.

If you have not heard, Edmond will have its own home to build for Habitat for Humanity. Leslie Denton will be getting more information later where the home will be built. Let me encourage you to try your best to sign up and work. Be the lead person in your office to get a group together to work on the home. You will be blessed for your effort.

We had all of our state directors from Edmond at the recent OAR meeting and it was great. We got to hear from District Directors from across the state and see what they have been doing. As you know, we are always asking for your help for local and state issues, and then there are the national concerns. RPAC is the best way to support your industry at all levels. Please be sure the REALTOR® voice is heard by giving to RPAC.

Ryan has a great list of speakers lined up this year, so be sure to put down in your day timer the first Tuesday of each month for the membership luncheon. The March speaker is Mary Berry, and you don’t want to miss her.

The quote of the day is “I found it fascinating that most people plan their vacations with better care than they do their lives. Perhaps that is because escape is easier than change.”

Take Care,

Jerry Payne
